48.4°F – We received 1.10″ inches of rain so far at the Shores from this last storm which is right on forecast. After a slight chance of showers over the next hour or so, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies the rest of the day. Sunday looks mostly cloudy and cool before a chance of showers returns Sunday night into Monday with only around .25″ of rain expected.
Tuesday-Wednesday look mostly cloudy and unsettled, before a strong storm takes aim at Nor Cal beginning around Thursday. Yes, confidence is high that we will likely see a major storm that impacts Northern California late next week. This storm will be pulling in moisture from across the Pacific down to near Hawaii into Nor Cal. Cold air behind the storm will drop snow levels to around 5000 ft or a little lower. Expect heavy rain in the foothills and heavy Sierra snow, high winds, also small stream flooding and power outages are possible from downed branches and trees.
If the forecast holds, early precipitation estimates show the GV / NC areas could receive around 5 inches of total rainfall over the next week, through the 13th next Saturday. Of course, this precip forecast will probably be revised up or down some as details become more clear over the next several days. We’ll keep you posted. Enjoy your Saturday!
