70°F – We saw a degree or so of cooling today in the foothills over yesterday’s highs (we reached 86° at the Shores). The delta breeze was a bit stronger than forecast which knocked down our high temps just a tad.
More nice weather is in store here in the foothills this coming work week as we are sandwiched between high pressure to our SE and developing low pressure off the coast of Canada. That pattern will keep us warm and dry through the week with foothill highs in the upper 80’s to low 90’s.
We’ve been watching the extended forecast for the past several days and it’s been pretty consistent in bringing a stronger trough into far northern CA around the end of the week and weekend (see graphic). That should drop our temperatures to slightly below normal (low to mid 80’s) with partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions at times with rain chances spreading into far northern CA around the north coast and around the Mt Shasta areas. No rain in the forecast yet locally, but it’ll definitely a feel bit more like fall as we head into September for sure.
