Escaping Anderson Springs During Valley Fire Saturday Evening.
Below is a video shot yesterday evening of a harrowing escape from Anderson Springs yesterday evening, when the Valley Fire was raging. Power lines down, trees and houses burning. This guy was lucky to have gotten out alive!
So far the fire as burned over 50,000 acres in just one day with zero percent containment. News agencies and Twitter feeds are reporting over 17,000 now are evacuated from their homes and over 1,000 homes lost.

The good news is that rain is in the forecast for Lake county and much of Nor Cal, including locally in Nevada County over the next several days. That should help lower the fire threat some. Cooler temperatures and higher humidities will help as well.
Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to all who are displaced by the fires the in west and those who have lost so much.
